Lone Peak Hospital is officially open as of July 31, 2013 with a new, 30-bed hospital to better meet the healthcare needs of people in Draper and other South Valley communities. Riding a substantial population jump of over 400% in the last 20 years, the suburban community and its residents now have the inpatient services of a hospital. Services provided include maternity care, orthopedics, and surgery services.
The opening of Lone Peak Hospital represents the second component of MountainStar Healthcare’s growth plan for Draper. The initial phase featured the Lone Peak Emergency Center (Utah’s first satellite ED, which recorded 10,000 patient visits during its first year) and the Lone Peak Imaging Center (diagnostic capabilities and imaging services such as CT, MRI, ultrasound, and X-ray). Soon thereafter, digital mammography and bone density scanning were added to better serve women.
This a is good example of smart growth; our phased-in construction plan meets, but does not exceed, the Draper community’s healthcare needs. We are delivering the right care at the right time to people— in their own neighborhood.
